Reclaimed fir table with 4"x4" post legs - 42" x 42"

This unique table was made from reclaimed fir stair treads from an exterior stairway at the old St. Mary’s Hospital in New Westminster. The guy who reclaimed them when the hospital was demolished in 2004 kept them under a tarp for years and we just picked them up a couple of years ago. It’s doubtful that these massive stair treads, 42″ wide and 2.5″ thick, were from the time of original construction of St. Mary’s in 1887, but they look like they might have been. Very lightly sanded with a natural stain finish and hand-rubbed varnish topcoat. Sold to a lucky customer to complete her kitchen renovation.
